I am very pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Jason Genck, an outstanding young professional.

Jason graduated from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois and was recommended by Ron Dodd, Director of the Joliet Park District for an internship with our department in the spring of 1997. Jason was assigned to my office during his internship. This gave him an opportunity to work closely on a day-to-day basis with all of our executive and support staff in the main office. Jason’s performance and commitment was exceptional. He was an individual that was always eager to learn and grow in all of his work assignments. He provided high quality leadership, was a strong team member and made an excellent representative for the Director’s Office. When Ron Dodd recommended Jason, he indicated he had great potential and would be a strong professional in parks and recreation. I have always found that to be very true.

Upon completion of his internship, Jason worked extensively in different program areas. In the Director’s Office, he did an exceptional job in his entire field work experiences. As an indication of commitment to our profession, in addition to working full-time in our department, he received his master’s degree in the field of public administration from Arizona State University in 1998. Jason currently serves as Division Manager for the Buffalo Grove Park District in Buffalo Grove, Illinois and once again performs in an outstanding manner.

As another indication of this young man’s commitment and work ethic, he currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois in the department of Recreation Administration.

I feel strongly that in a short period of six years, Jason has proven that he is an outstanding professional and future leader in our field. It is for all of the above reasons and personal knowledge of the young man’s personal commitment that I recommend him without reservation.

Sincerely,

James A. Colley, CPRP
