It is a pleasure to recommend Jason Genck as an outstanding professional in
recreation administration.
Jason Genck graduated from the University of St. Francis in 1997 with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Recreation Administration and a minor in Business Management.
I have known Jason since 1993 when he joined our program. He was an
outstanding student with an outgoing, courteous manner. He strived to exceed
expectations in every project and class. Jason was immediately focused on
a professional career and worked hard at continuous self-improvement throughout
his college years.
At the end of his four years at St. Francis, Jason completed an internship at
the Phoenix Parks, Recreation and Library Department planning and implementing a
variety of programs including special events, and an after school program for at
risk youth. Jason was hired to work for the Phoenix Parks, Recreation and
Library Department upon completion of the internship. While at the Phoenix
Parks and Recreation Department, Jason completed a Master of Public
Administration degree in Public Management at Arizona State University.
Jason is now working for the Buffalo Grove Park District as a Division Manager.
Out of his desire to teach and to give back to the profession, Jason came to the
University of St. Francis as an adjunct faculty member. Since the fall of 2001
Jason has been teaching the Outdoor Recreation and Camping class. His
class is exciting and is filled with unique, interactive activities, projects
and excursions. The students are thrilled to have as their teacher a young
professional with energy and enthusiasm for the field of recreation.
It continues to be a pleasure to know and work with Jason. I know his mark
on the profession will continue to be significant as a professional with real
heart and dedication to serving others in the field of parks and recreation.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ann Zito
